Welcome to our new parish website! You may recall just over a year ago we conducted a “Parish Conversation” as part of the Wellspring Project. The wellspring project was launched as a 10-year pastoral plan to renew and grow the Roman Catholic Diocese of Motherwell. The focus being on renewing parishes, deepening faith through adult and youth formation, and increasing practical poverty relief efforts.
As part of our Parish Conversation, we considered and discussed six main questions on how we could shape our parish and parish life going forward.
The results of these meetings, one held in St Bridget’s and one in St Francis produced many fruitful and creative ideas which were shared at subsequent feedback meetings in each church. One such idea was to update the website to make it more modernised, accessible, navigable and engaging for our parishioners and beyond and I’m delighted to say that with the creative talent of our web developer at Athena Media, we have overachieved on this ambition. Going forward, the aim is to form a parish Social Media Team which will manage the website, together with our Facebook page and potentially other social media platforms – we definitely need some of the young team for this though as we’re not yet up to speed with TikTok!! We hope you will enjoy using this website which now has responsive design meaning that it will adapt to the device you are viewing it on, be it laptop, tablet or mobile phone.
Going forward we aim to bring more tangible outputs from our Wellspring Parish Conversation and the ideas it generated, to grow and renew our parish but we hope you enjoy navigating and viewing this new website as a forum for bringing news, events and communication within our parish together, in a very positive way.
