A warm welcome to our parish family.
Whether you’re visiting for the first time, have recently moved into the area, are returning to the Church, or have been part of our community for many years, we’re delighted you’re here.
We are a vibrant, welcoming and inclusive Catholic parish serving Baillieston and the surrounding communities through our parish of St Ambrose encompassing the churches of St Bridget’s and St Francis of Assisi. Ours is a parish where people of every age and stage of life—from young children and families to teenagers, young adults and pensioners—can grow in faith, build friendships and feel at home. Everyone is welcome.
Our parish is made possible by the generosity of more than 120 volunteers who give their time and talents in so many different ways. They come from a wide variety of backgrounds, but share a common faith and a desire to serve others with kindness, compassion and joy. Together, they help make our parish a place of prayer, welcome and community.
I am Father Tom Devlin, Parish Priest, and it has been a privilege to serve the people of Baillieston since 2015. Before answering God’s call to the priesthood, I worked as an engineer and later studied at Scotus College in Glasgow. I was ordained in St Monica’s, Coatbridge in 2007 and served as assistant priest in various parishes in the Diocese of Motherwell before coming to Baillieston and being asked by Bishop Toal to unite the parishes of St Bridget’s and St Francis of Assisi to become the Parish of St Ambrose.
Deacon Michael Meechan, who has served our parish since 2022, was ordained to the Diaconate in 2021 and assists us in the pastoral work of the parish. Michael enjoyed a career in secondary education, specialising in Religious Education. Together we are committed to supporting our parish community in faith, worship and service.
If you’re coming to Holy Mass, to spend time in prayer or simply want to find out more about the Catholic faith, you’ll always receive a warm welcome.
You can find our Mass times on the homepage, along with the latest parish bulletin and news. If you have any questions or would like to get involved in parish life, please don’t hesitate to contact the parish office—we’d be delighted to hear from you.
We look forward to welcoming you in person.
